CannabisxCreativity: Launched at Beanstalk Festival 2015
- By Lindsay Topping
CannabisxCreativty - A digital initiative looking at the social and cultural role of cannabis within the creative process. Check out our first project below, a partnership with The Mischief Collective and Blackspy Marketing featuring the talented musicians at this year's Beanstalk Music Festival in Eagle County, Colorado on June 1, 2015.
You know magic when you see it.
The experience leaves no need for explanation, and rather than taking your brain through a maze trying to make sense of it, you’re best simply acknowledging, appreciating, and absorbing it.
Beanstalk Music and Mountains Festival not only epitomizes magic, but thinking about it still gives us goose bumps. The Magic Beans headlined three nights, along with Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Kyle Hollingsworth Band with fellow String Cheese Incident bandmate Michael Kang, and a bunch of Disco Biscuit side projects. There was also a fair amount of bluegrass in the mix, which rounded out the fest’s family vibe. We sent the Mischief Collective armed with cases of elixir to give away to artists, just to make things a bit more interesting. Our elixirs definitely fueled a lot of mischief over the weekend, and we’re happy to provide you with a taste.
Watch the Sweet Lillies Play LIVE at the Dixie Media Tent
As part of Dixie’s new Cannabis x Creativity campaign, our work with Denver-based Blackspy Marketing and the Mischief Collective at Beanstalk was the first of many fun collaborations to come. During Beanstalk we sponsored a Media Lounge, where artists and staff could come and unwind and be creative. By providing samples of our elixirs to those who came to use the space, we fostered conversations about how cannabis relates to each individual’s creative process, and watched as their experience with the products unfolded. The result was a weekend filled with new friends, dancing and relaxing in scenic Bond, and lots of photographs.
Check out our collection from that magical weekend below, and head on over to the Mischief Collective if you’re interested in reading a full review of the weekend.
