DIXIE ELIXIRS AND EDIBLES VOLUNTARILY RECALLS SIX PRODUCTS PRODUCED BY COLORADO MANUFACTURING AFFILIATE

Essential Oil in all Peppermint and Orange Flavored Products Recalled by Denver Environmental Health Due to Lack of Food Grade Documentation by Ingredient Supplier

DENVER, CO (August 21, 2017)— Dixie Brands, Inc. (Dixie), the owner of Dixie Elixirs and Edibles, makers of cannabis-infused consumable and topical products, today announced that its Colorado manufacturer, Left Bank LLC, has issued a recall for six of its products:

  • Orange Mints
  • Dr Stash Awakening Tablets
  • Orange Milk Chocolate Bar 500mg
  • Peppermint Mints
  • Dr Stash Relaxing Tablets
  • Dark Chocolate Peppermint Bar 500mg

The focus of the recalls are the essential oils in the six products, which were made with pure peppermint and orange essential oil, rather than food grade essential oil. Dixie and Left Bank are currently reviewing potential misrepresentations by the ingredient supplier as to the intended uses for their essential oil products.

All inventory of the six products in the Colorado warehouse will be destroyed, and all stores who have purchased any of these products in the last six months, will receive direct contact from Dixie’s Colorado manufacturer regarding the destruction and replacement of any inventory on shelves within the next 24 hours. All wholesale customers, as well as Colorado-based end-users/consumers who wish to, can also send an email with any questions or concerns to questions@dixieelixirs.com.

“We require that all of our manufacturers and supply-chain partners follow specific standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure the highest standards of quality and safety for our products in the cannabis industry,” said Chuck Smith, Chief Operating Officer for Dixie Brands, Inc. “In this instance, it came to our attention that one of our suppliers had not provided the proper certificates of authenticity to comply with those standards here in Colorado, and the information they did supply did not meet the requirements of Denver Environmental Health. With an abundance of caution, Dixie and our Colorado manufacturer are fully cooperating with the Department of Health in voluntarily issuing this recall.  While we do not believe that these products, which are some of our best sellers, pose any immediate or significant health threat to our valued customers, we do want to reassure all fans of Dixie products that the Colorado manufacturing team is currently in the process of reformulating our Orange and Peppermint flavored products with an entirely new essential oil which will meet all of the required specifications. We appreciate everyone’s support as we go through this recall process and I can assure you that we will do all we can to exchange any inventory on hand in a simple and expedient fashion.”

Any consumers who have purchased the recalled products and have any product remaining should email a photo of the product/compliance label to questions@dixieelixirs.com to receive instructions regarding product/store credit in exchange for destroyed product.
